MARVEL™

MARVEL is a complete, fully distributed seismic processing system. Each integrated module in MARVEL streams data through both local and broadband network channels. MARVEL automatically detects the available resources on each node and selects the optimum parallelization and efficiency strategies to maximize performance. MARVEL is a full 64-bit system and is available on a wide variety of platforms and operating systems, including Linux, Macintosh OS X, and SGI. It is optimized for speed and efficiency, and can run on Intel-based cluster systems and NVIDIA GPUs, and communicates over virtually all network implementations.

After you have defined the project variables, you can select data subsets interactively from graphical location maps. You can produce standard CDP fold displays and shot or receiver location maps. You can also use decimation or interactive data selection from these maps to define specific data subsets for subsequent use in your processing and visualization workflows. Automatic data sorting and extraction provides rapid visualization and analysis of CDP, shot, receiver and common offset ensembles, as well as 2D lines and crosslines and full 3D visualizations.

The Gathers module in MARVEL integrates two-dimensional visualization and data analysis tools into one application. Seismic data is visualized in CDP, line, crossline, shot, receiver, and common offset domains. Data is analyzed for RMS and interval velocities using semblance panels in time or depth. Earth models can be constructed interactively for 3D visualization and review. Key features of the Gathers module include:
